How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Between these to images there are key differences and similarities.
The similarities are that they bother have:
a objective gaze as they are looking at you, the hair styles have a resemblance, the fashion sense of a scruffy shirt and that just woken up look and the way they are looking gives a feeling of uncertainty or confusion to the reader.
Both differ due to :
The shot used, mine is a far shot but the NME is medium close, the NME is no different background where as mine has a blue room with general junk in the back ground making it seem more real.

In a demographic sense both the pictures seem to have a male gender in mind by the more masculine fashion sense, and both having a bold feel. The social status of the pictures is around the urban ABC1 around the 17-25 mark.
Psychographicly: i would say that they both cater to the same audience, the individual and the sub-cultures, mine would be the sub-culture of the emo's and skater kids, but NME would be more scene and slightly more chavy.

I see both magazines as subverting as they both show the youth culture, and the sub-cultures as a good thing compared to other magazines which say the opposite. Both magazines have a pro-consumerist stance as most of the money coming into the magazine will be from advertising gadgets, musical instruments, gigs and bands.
