What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

My media product is quite similar to the kerrang and NME magazines that are already out at the moment, i believe my magazine would follow the same kind of mainstream distribution because it follows there style of magazine but goes into the gap that neither of them fill by focusing on the newer acts more than the main stream ones and also by helping its readers with there music by giving them the chance new songs at different levels, as in my contents page.

There would be an online version of my magazine, not containing the full content of the magazine because then it would never make any money and be a complete failure. I don't think there would be a TV channel for this magazine because, not only that the readers are more interested in comedy in TV, but the bands that it looks at aren't successful enough to have a music video out when they are approached by the magazine. There could be a possible radio aspect to the magazine, as most music in the magazine would have a song or two recorded.

I think the distribution of the magazine would be on a large scale, in major super-markets, news agents and available to get on subscription, this would be being on the same level as Kerrang, NME and Rock Sound. a smaller distribution would be good to start with but as the main distributing idea a larger one would be better because if there are less on the shelfs for people to see there is less chance for it to get noticed and to get bigger, if a radio station is to happen then a larger spread would be needed as the popularity grows.

With the target audience in mind, there maybe a deal with iTunes as most of my target crowd are iUsers so a Dinstick app or playlist would probably go down well with them, and it would also allow for a lot of people to  preview the magazines music genre online before buying.
